★ ★ ★ ★ ★ delete if not aloud but i just wanna make a review on marine tech one of the only few places in the naki to get outboards serviced / repaired ..i took my boat the there and left it with gasket kit my request was for them to change the gaskets for me . after over a week in the shop i was contacted with some very upsetting news my engine was damaged and not worth the fix along with a bill for tightening the earth cable and general look over none of that was what i asked for ...anyway i payed the bill accepted my fate took the outboard off and cried day on day not literally,as this was my first boat ever and my passion for fishing is waaayyy strong.... so left with a stuffed outboard and 2 gaskets i went against marine techs "proffessional" advice and watched some youtube clips and proceded to do as i asked marine tech to do for me .motor now running like a dream and im back out on the water .... if you ask me thats pretty sad pushing outboards that are pre 90s away and calling the end of there days i almost lost out on thousands . so thanks alot MARINE TECH great service

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Needed to sell my Mclay recently and had to have an urgent service so was all running smooth for new owners. Pete fitted me in no worries and had sorted before the weekend, handed boat over on the Wednesday. Called before doing extra bit of work that was needed to make sure all was ok. Prices are super reasonable and they were super accommodating. Considering other so called specialiasta tell you can't have a spot for 3 weeks (I wont name names but I'm sure this is a common answer, you'll be able to figure out who) why waste your time elsewhere?. Can't rate this place more highly. Use the 1 star review as a guide on how a business owner who cares and responds... reasonably.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ As a rookie boat owner, I took my boat TMT for a service and good look over, they were honest about what they had found and were very fair on the pricing. The service and repairs were finished within a good time frame and the workmanship cannot be faulted.
Pete had even messaged me a few weeks later to check if I had had a chance to take the boat out and how it all went.
Keep up the good work TMT, I’ll be sticking with you for all my future servicing and repairs.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Our Surtees was due for another annual service and our wallet was not looking forward to it. We had also been having trouble with our windlass not playing out smoothly since purchasing (2nd hand). TMT fabricated a locker extension to allow adequate warp-to-windlass fall. Not only did the end result come out better aesthetically than I could have expected, the workmanship was A+, it didn't take long and the whole thing (including service) was cheaper than the last service we had locally!!!
Real easy to deal with. I recommend Taranaki Marine Tech.
