About Taranaki Pathology Services
Taranaki Pathology Services is a modern diagnostic laboratory and is the provider of community services to the Taranaki region. We operate 4 collection centres. Taranaki Pathology Services was established on 1 February 2020, and is owned by APHG – New Zealand’s largest network of diagnostic laboratories.
The services we offer:
- Biochemistry
- Cytology
- Haematology
- Histology
- Immunology
- Microbiology
- Molecular pathology
- Phlebotomy – specimen collection service
- Specimen referral service for esoteric testing
As an medical laboratory we:
- collect and transport specimens
- test, analyse and report on them
- provide expert advice and consultation.
We employ around 55 staff in our laboratories in our collection centres through the greater Taranaki region.
Everyday about 1000 patient samples get registered in our laboratory and we undertake about 4000 pathology tests.

β β β β β Saturday "nurse" with disgusting attitude should find another job. If you don't like it, leave it.
Was really rude with my wife, who asked to be told to take a deep breath before getting the needle in, and just get that hard enough to still have pain and purple around the injection zone. New Zealand health system is rubbish along with this kind of nurse.

β β β β β A bit of a wait but they are very busy. Lovely staff, very gentle. The building is lovely and clean.
Very hard to get a park though ended up having to drive around the block a couple of times until a park became available, no parks on the road either.

Unethical, and life threatening practices by a phtebologyst (Jenny) instead of a blood collection.This institution should be a subject of an a serious audit and until then, CLOSED, as long as peoples life are jeopardised here and the managers from here and Wellington hide their heads in the sand. This institution is HIGHLY UNSAFE, and have no ethical standards. Old:The clients should be informed (and not obstructed,) that they have the option that their results to be send to them via email.
