Stephen has been valuing urban property in Taranaki for fifteen years, specialising in residential dwellings and townhouses, lifestyle property, and commercial and industrial property.
Stephen is a Registered Valuer, an Associate of the New Zealand Institute of Valuers, and a Senior Member of the Property Institute of New Zealand. He has a Bachelor of Property Administration degree from the University of Auckland.
He has experience of working as a valuer in Auckland and London prior to moving to Taranaki in 2003. Since then, Stephen has worked as a staff and contract valuer in New Plymouth before forming Taranaki Property Valuers in April 2015.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very disappointed with my property valuation. Not really sure where to start- the properties used for comparison were not in a similar suburb and were not even similar type houses. The poorly taken photographs were a complete joke - they couldn’t have made the house look worse if he had tried. Valuation was not returned within the time frame quoted.
Criticism in the report about the downturn of market because of COVID, and a bad time for banks to lend money was wrong - the market did not slump as he reported it would- it’s actually a booming house market post COVID.
At $900 this was a complete rip off for what was provided. I would not recommend this company for valuations.

Had a property valuation done 6months prior through another organisation and was expecting Taranaki Property Valuers report to come back at the same market value if not higher. We were shocked with how much lower they valued it. When trying to get in contact to discuss the discrepancy we got little to no response. Costed us a lot of time and money and left us feeling very frustrated. Terrible value and very poor quality.
