Blue Lake isn't that blue. It's more like silver/grey. The walk is achievable though slightly steep with steps. When we were there it was raining. Not much of a wow factor and thought it can be missed. Only if you have spare time, then no harm coming here for a walk. #J2ACE

Place you can feel mount cook and the glacier. Words cannot express the views. Great and highly recommend.

You can watch glacier very close. Only 20 mins walk from car park.

This is an amazing experience. Very short walk of about 20 mins and some easy steps from the car park . The route can be handled by most people. The scene at the end of the route will definitely stunned you. The Tasman glacier is under your eyes.

Usually lots of space here for the trails that start from here. Lots of freedom campers usually too. Has a bathroom that was decently clean.

The sign said 15 min walk for view of the glacier. If you were a mountain goat perhaps! The climb is steep and tags quite a bit longer. The view is spectacular. The glacier is a disappointment. It's a dirty piece of ice..

A few good walks to do from here, I’d recommend Tasman River (1h return, flat to start then steep boulders at the end if you want to go down to the river) and Glacier View (35mins return with steep steps). The Blue Pools were less worth it. We did both walks with 60+ year olds of reasonable fitness and they were ok. Car park is ok with toilets.

Follow the well-marked track to get a view of this impressive glacier. At over 20km long the Tasman Glacier is the longest in New Zealand, although it has been retreating since the 1990s. It is up to 4 km wide and 600m thick Located near the highest peaks within the Aoraki / Mount Cook National Park, the glacier starts at a height of 3,000 metres above sea level and covers around 100 square kilometres.
