★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautifully designed steps. We went down the steps then Took a break and enjoyed looking at the manawatu river. Then went back up the steps with our 3 year old daughter, we had to take breaks as it was tiring for her (and us). My 14 year old just raced up no problem there. The view is really nice and you can enjoy looking at the river if it’s not raining. The parking at the top is a bit funny. We weren’t sure if we were at the right place at the start, until we saw the steps. Trust the Maps directions it will take you to the right place is you enter “Lindos steps”. Will surely go again

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Rainy day. Hubby walked down (visible in photo) and up fairly easily. We are in our early 60's and just starting to get fit, again! We remember this as an actively eroding face not too long ago. Fantastic engineering!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great views. Short and sharp glute and lung buster if you make a circuit by walking down the short set of steps and come up the longer set by the observatory.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Probably the best views of the volcanic plateau in the city. The Manawatu River always looks majestic from the top of the stairs. Then of course the steps are one of the cities best fitness assets.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The walk from our home on Te Awe Awe Street, up Pork Chop Hill then walking both sets of steps and then walking back to our home is simply very good exercise combined with fantastic views.
We are very lucky to live in the area....

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ If you want some serious exercise without having to pay a cent these steps can provide. There are two sets of steps. One has 180 steps and the other 220 steps. It's a good challenge to go up without stopping. The view is great from the top. On a clear day one an see Mount Ruapehu. Also a good view of Palmerston North and the river. Easy uphill access by Cliff Road and there is parking at the top if you just want to see the view. Step to it ??
