Good value to stay during summer season. This is a student dormitory. But the facility is pretty nice. Free continental breakfast.

Cosy student hall turned apartment rental during the holiday season. Super affordable, clean and easy to book. Ensuite or shared bathroom are both available but often booked out.

I had a great time there as a first year student, the food was actually alright considering it was hostel food and overall the RAs were pretty good. However we had black mold on our floor and they only put a fan in there to try stop it and we received no compensation for it.

student rooms quite small.. not much hanging space for your clothes.. the bigger rooms where you have your own bathroom had heating going during summer.. no idea why.. was nice to have my own space. nice place though. young blokes working there quite nice.. female one was a bit kinda judgemental.

Really nice staff at the reception. Amazing vue if you get a room located on the side facing the city and the ocean. Really close from the city. (It's up a big hill but there is some stairs towards the end so it's not too bad) Apart from that if like me you got the room with no kitchen you can't really cool because in the common room you only have a kettle and a microwave. Also it's written your towel will be changed every 3 days. I stayed 4 nights and no one changed it. Also there is no air con in the room and it can get really hot inside the room.(it was only 25degrees when I have been there so I guess during a heatwave it will be soooo hot) The common room with the microwave and sofa was such a mess with lots of uncleaned plates and cups. Ok I get it that the guests who should clean after themselves but first of all there was no dishwashing liquid or scrubs and second it stayed like that for 3 days so at some point someone will have to wash it because it's gross and will start to smell especially during summer time. The free breakfast included has nothing special but hey it's for free so you can't expect it to be really good. Overall I will have been really frustrated if I didn't have the nice view because apart from the te puni village has nothing really nice to offer for a not so cheap price.

Te Puni Village is a good option in Wellington. The staff is really friendly and helpful, the rooms are relatively spacious and have everything you need except for stoves. They also have a laundry service that turned out to be really helpful for us. The location is quite close to the city center and convenient for most of the points of interest.

As a student living at Te Puni it was one of the worst experiences I have ever had. It was filthy - the showers are all mouldy, mens toilets are often covered in urine and stink, fridges are all full of mouldy food, most rooms have an awful scent to them. The hall also has a huge drinking culture and issue with drugs by the looks of things. The staff also don't really seem to care and allow for any kind of behavior. Its very common to come back in the weekend evenings to see people vomiting in the bins which is always pleasant. Also prepare to be woken up 3-4 times a night when people are yelling in the hallways. Would NOT reccomend, such an awful place and leaving early was the best decision I made!

Rampant drinking culture, vomit/alcohol smell on every floor, yelling and noise every night, corporate walmart vibe to the place, pee on the toilet seat lids, walked into the toilet to find someone lying in their own vomit, weird stains on the shower curtains, false fire alarms went off a few times a week - sometimes while people were sleeping, overpriced, general living hell kinda number! Was hands down worst living situation I've been in and going was one of the worst decisions I've ever made. Try finding a flat instead.
