★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Is this one of the last traditional NZ Dominion Brewery pubs left in this country? Such a nice change. Friendly locals and staff and treat yourself to a burger - they are HUGE!

Found the menu was for the bar across the road (which we had just left).However as we had already ordered our drink ordered a burger.It came in a takeaway polystyrene container delivered from over the road, which we had to eat from .If we'd wanted takeaways would have gone to a takeaway shop.Will not be going back even for a drink.Expensive burger.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My wife and I spent two nights at the Telegraph Hotel. Granted, it wasn't a 5-Star accommodation but we knew that. It was clean, tidy, in the center of town and the price was right. We enjoyed the colorful bar downstairs and all of the employees were extremely friendly and helpful. We will return again next year.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Character hotel. I stayed in bunk room upstairs which was fine for the price. Just a little run down but great facilities as you have the hotel's lounge, veranda and dining room at hand plus the upstairs bathroom, kitchen and balcony.
