Texas Pete's Barbecue Joint - Rototuna North

Nice place, clean (if a little sticky) tables and nice staff. Got a meat platter for 3, not much in it at all. Just as well we loaded it to hell with sides and extras. All in all, nice, but very expensive for such small portions. I would almost be tempted to say that they should drop the price and have a place in a food court.

One word Delicious!, I stop by Texas Pete’s barbecue Joint for Lunch and ordered the DIRTY smashed Brisket Beef Burger. To start the service was amazing and we didn’t have to wait long for our food. The smashed brisket patty was so juicy and packed a lot of flavour between the two soft buns and the sharpness of the pickles and mustard with the melted cheese made me wanting more. I will definitely be going back to try the rest of their menu very soon. Definitely recommend.

This place is heaven to all those meat lovers out there!!! Their meat tray is a must tray, full of flavours, tender meat and just cooked to perfection! Their jalapeño poppers are so good too, plus chips are crispy! The staff are so accommodating, and with a good atmosphere, though not much space to move around as tight table arrangement. Nonetheless, highly recommended and will definitely be back!!! ?

BBQ pork ribs are plain and no flavour. Are they just boiled in water? Brisket loaded fries where soggy and the sauce was putrid. The chicken burger which was on the special my mate rated as good. Crunch and with flavour. Maybe they need to revisit a BBQ Texas place in the USA as they definitely don’t fit the requirements here. Thumbs down. $98 was steep too for low grade meat. No ice for drinks to which was postmix soft drink.

What we ordered: - Smokehouse Meat Tray (5 Meat) - 1 of every meat available in a tray - Double Dirty smashed Brisket Beef and Cheese Burger with fries - half rack of pork ribs with slaw and pickles *Friendly service, even from the cook! *Wait time wasn't long, about 15-20min from placing the order. Nice! *ribs and chicken slipped off the bone and we're juicy and cooked nicely with great sauces *sliced pork belly was delish with plenty of fat if that's your jam *sliced Brisket was a tad dry but still delicious with some nice bbq sauce on it *crispy pork belly was... Wait for it..... Crispy! *sausages had a subtle kick to them, oozing with cheese, nom nom *slaw was great! I always enjoy a good slaw to balance out meat-heavy meals. Crisp salad ingredients that weren't drenched in a tangy sauce, with a sour hint from what I believe are pickled onions.. Yoo *tater tots are just bite sized hash browns, these and the chips were OK *Burger was Amazing and a great serving for a big meal - stick to the single if you can't smash back a decent meat serving, these aren't 3 bite burgers like what you'd find at Mcds or BK. *Cost was relevant to the amount of food purchased (this could feed a small family without over bloating everybody) All up, I'd go back time and time again whenever I want a hearty meaty feed. Get amongst meat lovers.

Gorgeous food, outstanding service. 10 out of 10 isn't enough of a rating for this company, its an easy 15/10... I've always said Texas Pete's have the best BBQ in the north island, hands down. You won't be disappointed.

Absolutely amazing food. Tasty, great portions and well priced! Friendly, fast and efficient service. We were fortunate because we got a Facebook deal for free fries and shake/coke with any Burger. The burgers are so juicy and flavourful! I'd HIGHLY recommend adding Cheesy Jalapeno poppers or a Taco if you're extra hungry. They're delicious little extras that really add to the experience. Awesome wall art and tidy shop in a beautiful location. Highly recommend!
