The theme of Gengy’s is originated from the founder of the Mongol Empire who had invaded and conquered most of Europe, Asia and Africa with his warriors.
After they had won a battle they had a huge victory feast in the shelter using their shields turn upside down over roaring camp fires and cook newly discovered meats and vegetables native to the conquered lands. Gengy’s restaurants have captured the idea of this fresh and tasty style of cuisine, and approached them in more modern and hygienic style. Come and discover our food!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Had the worst experience at Gengy’s. The chef mixed my bowl of food with some other guys food. And then the same chef mixed my friends bowl of food with another guys food. Chef was just picking up two bowls at a time and shrugging her shoulder and dumping them down together. Also we brought drinks had the waiter forgot about us 3 times. We had to keep going up to the counter and asking, waiter then thought we didn’t pay for them when we did. Was never given a drink we paid for. Very unhappy and unimpressed with the service tonight.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I took my 7 year old granddaughter out for dinner here as it was highly recommended...Very disappointing!? First off we were placed right by the front door so it was cold. We then went up to get our food...lack of everything. Meats and veges were scarce. Oil containers were empty and only hot, chilli and spicy sauces were available. Not good for a child. Lack of bowls to put our meats and veges in. My granddaughter then had to go to the toilet. The lighting in there was so dark it was almost like going down a dark back alley! Please fix this! For the $51.95 I paid for us both, the only thing that was good about it was leaving and heading to McDonalds as we were both still hungry after a somewhat very disappointing meal!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is the worse Gengy's ive ever been too! It was disgusting! The vegetables looked old and was like straw, the meat and chicken was yuk! The buns were like thrown into a steamer and left there, the soup was yuk the fried rice was the same yuk! My pancake was over most of all a white boy was cooking and my chicken wasnt cooked and my red wine was a cheap versiin, the worse ever meal!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Went for a family dinner. Place seemed very dirty, could do with a good clean. Lots of key ingredients not replaced when ran out. We normally love a Mongolian bbq, but this was very disappointing. We won't be coming back here unfortunately.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very enjoyable family dining. Not "High End", but really enjoyed the Mongolian style of selecting your food, watching it being cooked, and then enjoying it.
Very well priced. Food was excellent.
Kids of all ages really enjoyed it.
Highly recommended for families.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My first time eating at Gengys was in Henderson branch when I was still living in Auckland. Second time is here in Hamilton branch. Excellent service and foods are awesome. Lots of varieties of seafoods considering that I am a pescatarian. Still worth my pay. I also love the dessert as well and their pancakes. I just hoped that there will be more choices for their desserts. The only down side was when I get my first round of my cooked seafoods, there was a single strand of hair on it. Also, their surcharge is surprisingly big, which is 15%! Probably due to public holiday. Other than that, I enjoyed my buffet dinner overall and I commend the staff for being friendly. Will definitely come back there someday.
