About The Artisan Cafe
Hi Im Katie Whitcombe the owner of The Artisan Café.
I am a Mother, a Business owner, an Artist, a food and coffee lover oh and I cannot forget a connoisseur of talking too much. Here is a little bit more about me.
I have been in the hospitality industry from a very young age, due to my mother’s love of food and people.
In 2014 I graduated from EIT with a degree in Visual Arts and design. After having designed the café, the branding and everything else that goes into a business during my degree, I had the vision of opening the café in Hastings which came to life in August 2014.
The Artisan Café incorporates all of my passions of art, food, coffee and people. I am also an avid traveller and like to think that the café has the essence of all the places I have been.
The food!! I wish I could say I make it but unfortunately, we can’t be good at everything! Instead, I am extremely grateful for having an incredible baker as a partner in life. Te Mata Bakehouse produces most of our delicious food each day with the exception of our freshly made sandwiches and rolls which we do onsite.
Without the support of my partner Aaron, my parents and my staff, the Café wouldn’t be what it is today.
