★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Such an awesome place to learn. I have learnt so much from our trainer Jason, not only is super talented but also really informative, fun and made my two weeks course so enjoyable. I would recommend this course to everyone who is looking at getting into the coffee industry or willing to better your skills.

The environment and training structure is super conducive for learning, and as a neurodivergent person, Jason is a really patient and encouraging instructor with a huge amount of wisdom and advice. I absolutely recommend this for anyone who enjoys and is interested in coffee or anyone wanting professional commercial training.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I've done the 5-day course and I really loved it! I've learnt so much in one week time, from zero experience to making a lot of different coffees! Jason is a good teacher, takes the time, explains everything and you can always ask him for advice and how to improve your creations. I definitely recommend the Barista Academy and if I had the opportunity, I took the plane back to Auckland to do another week :)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ When I first got here, I didn't know how to operate the machine at all. Now, I am able to pour latte arts quite easily. This place teaches the students in a very fun way and the teacher is a super gentle and patient guy. Overall, I had a superb time here learning how to make coffee while having fun at the same time.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I did the two-day express course and I am very pleased! I came in knowing absolutely zero about coffee and came out with lots of practice, knowledge, and a certificate. The instructor was amazing, patient and informative. I recommend this course :)

Made some awesome friends on the course as well which is great so overall really really really recommend The Barista Academy ?????

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My wife and I took the 4 week course here in October 2016. I did a lot of research around different barista courses in Wellington, Christchurch, Portland, and Seattle and I couldn't find anything close to what Barista Academy was offering. Most were 3 days long at equal or greater cost. After taking the 4 week course I can't imagine trying to learn all that I did in a quicker span. The learning environment that they create with the different students of varying levels interacting was extremely facilitative in the learning process. Having people ahead of you that are making beautiful milk look at your bubbly "cup of soup" and commiserate that they were there only a week ago really encouraged me on the tougher days. It was great to be able to do the same for other students a week later. Nic is a great guy and a phenomenal teacher. He is very intelligent so pay attention, just about everything he says has some type of value in it for you. Whether it is teaching you something, or subtly hilarious. He is a wealth of knowledge not only in making a proper espresso drink, but I enjoyed just as much his teaching on cafe etiquette and business practices. The only way I would have been happier with the class was if I could of stayed a bit longer every session because I was having so much fun. A fantastic experience well worth every cent.
