β β β β β Stayed in a 3 bed dorm. Had plenty of power sockets to use, side lamp and most importantly, a comfortable mattress. The showers are great with plenty of warm water and had a number of them dotted around, so you don't have to wait to long. Kitchen and common room is small, so it can get a bit crowded at times but has everything you need. Big outdoor space to enjoy the sun with a couple of hammocks. Friendly staff, and very helpful. Overall a great place to stay.

β β β β β Stayed in a 8 bed room, not a bad stay. The kitchen is very small and so is the lounge area. The yard is pretty nice too. "Free breakfast" consists of a few types of bread, some jam, and peanut butter. Not terrible but personally I wouldn't call it breakfast. The place is quite clean and good quality but it isn't my favorite place because it seems a little cramped. Super friendly staff though!

β β β β β A lot changed after my last visit. We picked it because I loved the place with its unique theme.
Roughly 8 years ago the hostel was sold and with it its lovely soul and atmosphere. The kitchen need some work as well as the rooms and the garden. What was once a nice calm retreat is now merely a loud smokers beergarden. What a pity.
EDIT: I told the manager/reception about the stoves, the problems with the oven were well known when we chatted about it and I got no reply about the dysfunctional shower.

β β β β β Nice and clean hostel, our room was ok, with a comfortable bed. But our room was in a diferent building of the kitchen, so when is raining yo have to get wet to get to the kitchen, they only have 1 shower in that building, the shower was ok, but is only 1 and we were waiting a lot to can take a shower. They only have a late check in, you only can check in before 4pm and 5.30pm and when we asked in the morning to stay after the check out in the living area they said no.

β β β β β Nice hostel in Nelson. The room was clean and tidy and the shared kitchen has everything you need to prepare your meal. They also offer a free breakfast. The atmosphere with the other guests was relaxed and very friendly.

β β β β β Only stayed for one night, but we liked it. Checking in late was no problem. Good value for money. Decent breakfast served 7-9am, but some people helped themselves to 5-6 bread rolls early on, leaving very little for everyone else, until staff refilled the stuff at 8am.

β β β β β Only 5 car spaces, pretty outdated, no towel provided, doesn't seem to wash the duvet between different guest uses (this is unhygienic, in my opinion, especially since Covid still lingers). 4/10 comfortable double (two single) beds pushed together, two pillows each was nice. The London room door is difficult to open/shut, had a weird smell, and was stuffy. Toilets/showers were okay enough. Would not particularly recommend, nor stay again. Would be great for someone who's not super picky and looking for somewhere cheap.

β β β β β Nice quite environment. Cleanliness of showers/toilets could be improved with some mouldy bits in shower and on shower curtains. Some kitchen appliances not working. Lots of food storage space. Friendly cat & staff. Bed sheets(pillows and covers) are not changed after customers use so they are quite smelly. Free parking and on street parking too. No free breakfast as on booking.com or no freebies as advertised on their website (bike rides - all broken, laundry, breakfast). Rubbish in the garden
