About The Event Refinery
The Event Refinery was born as a result of two best friends with a passion for all things PARTY!
After Jannah’s engagement in 2018, and the two of us having brains bubbling with unique ideas of how to make her wedding one that absolute dreams are made of - we combined our powers, worked our little butts off, and with some amazing help from some super clever people along the way, The Event Refinery was finally launched in May 2019.
With Mel bringing to the table a strong background in Event Management and organisational roles, and Jannah, a background in Operations, as well as a huge passion and flair for design, styling and aesthetics, we are your wedding and events dream team!
We absolutely love nothing more than seeing an event come to life and will do everything in our power to make sure there is no stone left un-turned.

You're not just getting an event planner on the day but someone (with an eagle eye for detail) who oversees details from all vendors in the lead up to the big day. Thanks to the attention that went into our runsheet, the day went smoothly, all the vendors knew what they (and each other) were doing and we could relax and let the event run according to plan. Mel truly went above and beyond, stepping up and offering to help with all sorts of jobs. Not only was Mel a true professional (and so dedicated!) but also brought all the positive vibes. Would recommend to anyone planning a wedding. Thank you for everything - we were truly able to enjoy the time we had with our family and friends.

From the day I enquired right up till the big day The Event Refinery girls' made the planning / set up / pack down so easy! During the planning they helped me with ideas and attended to any change I needed with ease. On the day they set up the venue perfectly and made our vision come to life. It was perfect. The communication was fantastic and everything I hired from them *knifes, forks, plates, furniture etc* was beautiful. I would not hesitate to use / recommend them for any event in the future! Mel brought a calming, warm, "just relax, everything will be fine" feel to the final stages of our intimate garden party wedding day. She was able to steer me in the right direction when the choices were overwhelming. Mel liaised with all our vendors and kept us in the loop with the perfect amount of communication and information and didn't over load the email inbox. The weather wasn't forgiving leading up to our celebration and she was able to sort all wet weather requirements without a hassle. We couldn't have done this without you and are forever grateful. We spent ten months together creating our perfect day, with Mel's fantastic communication with us and all of our vendors, helping and guiding us, and making sure everything was on track. Mel was extremely thorough, super responsive and she was always 'got' our ideas! Her on the day management (and the set up the day before) was pure magic - nothing was a problem and she managed all the hard work seemingly effortlessly. I can't recommend Mel enough, I could not have enjoyed the day as much as I did if it was not for Mel and The Event Refinery.
