This is a another beautiful spot to enjoy what makes this country, and this area, so gorgeous.
The cafe is delightful. We had coffees and one dessert. All of which were delicious. Next time we go, we will have lunch. The menu looked great and the food I saw other customers eating, looked enticing and smelled great. So we will be back to try some more of their offerings.
The views are outstanding! You can sit outside, have your tea, coffee, or meal and take in the breathtaking scenery. It's a place to dream, to write, photograph etc... There are also so many enticing works of art to inspire you. Since the art is for sale, you can take home a piece of New Zealand, if you're on holiday. Or, if you live here, you can add a beautiful piece of art made locally to your home or garden.
The art gallery/gift shop is extensive. There is literally something for everyone. If you are visiting from overseas there are many smaller items you can fit into your suitcases. Most are made by New Zealand artists. There's a bespoke, local, blade/knife maker called Fehu Forge Bladesmithing. Kaleb, the artist, makes incredible Damascus blades of all sorts. He also makes custom works to your specifications. We own a Damascus chefs knife he made custom for my husband. It's the best knife we've ever owned.
There are also many jewelry pieces. From handmade Tikis to fine silver and gold pieces. There is so much to choose from!
The people who work here are all super helpful, professional, and nice.
Whether you're from New Zealand, or you are visiting from far away, don't miss this opportunity to spend an afternoon amidst the breathtaking beauty that is this magical place. You won't regret it.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is in a very beautiful location with an amazing view. It seems like a very remote place for a cafe, but as we were working in the area, it was very convenient for us. We enjoyed the burgers we ordered for lunch. We didnt get time to browse the gallery, but walked past some of the impressive garden art. I can imagine in summer, this place could be quite busy.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Is there a better place for a short stop for lunch or coffee and cake than the Gallery & Café?! I think not! Thanks for a wonderful time in this beautiful environment! Love this place surrounded by an amazing nature and lots of art. The carrot cake and the caramel cheesecake are very good, the cappuccino cake a bit too high on sugar but still tasty!

So much awesome quality art for sale.
Didn't try the cafe but looked nice.
Couple of wee down sides, a staff member smoking outside the entrance, which is never a good look. Also a visible container full of dead cigarette butts.
Plus the outside sculpture garden was looking a bit unloved but was told that this is a work in progress.
But overall so much great art, in several big galleries. Must have been close to a thousand pieces ranging from tiny to huge. Definately the place to go for a present for someone or just something unque for yourself.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Good place friendly staff. But there were to many flies where we got seated. We visited on a sunday and it was too busy. The lady had accidentally spilled my coffee a bit which was ok but obviously served it in a rush. They also forgot the jalapenos on our nachos.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Came here a couple weeks ago ( weekend) and the savoury scones were the best I've had! Food was great, ordered a fritter stack and it was superb. My sister had a German chocolate cake and it reminded us of our mothers cooking. Will be back here again. Fantastic. Can't recommend enough!!
