About The Hair Market
The Hairmarket was first opened in March 1993 on Taonui Street, Palmerston North. It supplies hairdressing goods to the hairdressing trade at wholesale prices. Its owners are Maryann Dodd and Michelle Boudreau. Maryann has been in the hairdressing industry on all levels for over 45 years and Michelle has been working in the industry for 30 years.
In the beginning, The Hairmarket serviced mostly a local area but now it has customers all over New Zealand. It was obvious there was an industry gap to fill to support the smaller hairdressing business who wanted “one stop shopping”. Since The Hairmarket was established it has had to move several times to expand the range of goods it offers.
The Hairmarket stocks all major professional hairdressing brands available in New Zealand and imports a few from overseas. It makes shopping easy for salons that can purchase anything from equipment, scissors , hair colour, hair extensions and product all under the one roof. If you need it – we usually can source it or give you an alternative solution. Salons can shop in the warehouse or have their goods couriered to their door. Most delivery is same day or overnight.
