Centre Philosophy
Love and respect are the foundation of The Miller Nest.
Through actions seasoned with unconditional Aroha (love) and Manaakitanga (kindness and respect), we work alongside our children; enabling them to explore, learn and grow, safe in the knowledge that they are respected and valued as individuals, supporting their emotional needs.
We value the whānau of our tamariki and all that they have to offer. Whakawhanaungatanga (establishing and maintaining relationships) creates a strong foundation for our children and their sense of belonging, and acknowledges te wairua me te matauranga ō ngā tamariki me ngā whanau (the spirit and knowledge of our children and families).
We see our children as precious taonga (treasures), and always put them at the heart of everything we do. We practice the concept of Ako (teaching and learning from each other), valuing and respecting the knowledge and skills each child brings with them.
Creating an environment where children are free to explore, use their imagination, make sense of the world, and open their minds to endless possibilities through an abundance of loose parts and meaningful experiences. This fosters intrinsic motivation and stimulates their passion to learn.
Engaging with nature and the local community are important to us and we believe that children should know and value the beautiful and precious place we live in.

My child has been difficult to settle and now is asking to go to daycare. Their patience, support and kindness is something that is evident from management through to support staff - highly recommend.

The teachers have become like family for him and with the transition into a new city we couldn't be any more happier that we chose this preschool. They are so genuinely caring towards everything. ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ "It takes a village to raise a child" and I'm so glad I've found this amazing village!! The Miller Nest has a very loving and nurturing environment to help your little ones blossom into the best versions of themselves.
The teachers are genuine, friendly, down to earth & oh so professional, they go above and beyond for the children day in day out. Due to their compassion and dedication they have successfully created an atmosphere of a loving family home.
If you are having a hard time finding a centre for your little one, don't look any further. The Manager is very hands on, has high standards & takes pride in her role so every single aspect of the centre is dealt to in an immaculate manner.
Rest assured you won't be disappointed when you enrol your child/children here. I'd give this centre a 100 star rating if I could.
I'm extremely happy with the level of care and support my children receive here, I definitely wouldn't send my children anywhere else even if you paid me! Please come and visit this beautiful little centre today, you will surely be impressed!! :-)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Our daughter started in Nursery and is now in preschool. She loves it there - she respects her teachers and has made great friends. Its a small daycare with a close-knit team of teachers and staff. Its also wonderfully clean which was important for us. The staff turnover has been low and our daughter has developed loving and meaningful relationships with her teachers. Its also very multicultural which is fantastic. As a parent its also been nice to get to know the team and talk with them daily. I'm so happy to have found the Millers Nest and would recommend it as one of the daycares to view and experience before deciding.
