About The Morgans Golf Course

About Us

We purchased the Pauatahanui Golf Course in 2019 when sadly the viability of the founding club ended. Our intention (the Morgan family) has been to build upon 50 years of effort from club members by restoring the course to its full potential and have it available for golfers of all abilities who seek a stress-less environment in which to enjoy their recreation.

The appeal of the property to us is twofold – it has a history now, from the ‘kiwi batch’ style clubhouse through to the course which was literally carved out of farmland some 50 years ago by volunteers and has become an absolute joy to play on since those early ambitious efforts; and secondly we intend to protect and enhance the beautiful environs in which the course is set so that everyone can appreciate just what a beautiful location Transmission Gully actually is. We have a strong ecological restoration programme underway which will deliver that outcome.

We are a New Zealand owned and operated business.

Brilliantly upgraded golf course under new ownership. Brand new and immaculately prepared greens

Great little course with no one else around. Great to chat with the green keeper and be told what is going on. A nice challenge

Great improvement on the redesigned course. Although really needs a qualified green's keeper to maintain course to a good standard. Volunteers are appreciated I am sure but the turf quality is in decline. Poor fertility and spraying quality is very apparent.. Plays well but could be so much better.

Hubster and his friends have been playing this course quite a lot. They really like the Tee times being 20 mins apart, nice greens and a relaxed 9 holes with great views.

This is a beautiful, relaxed and casual litle golf course. It is newly redesigned, so if you haven't been there for a while, it is worth playing it again with the new layout. Thete has been lots of investment in new infrastructure. It is a real picture. Also has great views!! Because it is one of the lesser known golf courses around, it is not as busy as others and you can just turn up without needing to book. Yes, there are a few hills, but that just adds to the variety and challenge. Definitely not a boring course. At only $20 a round, it is one of the cheapest (if not the cheapest) courses in the Wellington region. Great for a fun game of golf or just a pleasant walk ?

Best 9 hole in the region by far, huge amounts of work has been done to lift the greens and fairways to an excellent level. Love the 20 min gaps between tee off as don't have the pressure of someone always being right behind you making for a more enjoyable experience. Look forward to the ongoing development of the course! Love the challenge that comes with the second hole.

Whilst it's a challenging course, as a learner I love this place as it's super-quiet, tee times are spacious (20 minutes apart) and no-one else gets booked on your tee time - so you effectively have the course to yourself. It's extremely well maintained and I'm excited to see what the Morgan's do with this gem. If you find golf balls, there's a high chance they're mine (I've lost a LOT here!).
