About Trentham Camp Golf Club
About Us
Our History
In 1969 Major George Bennett, Camp Commandant of Trentham Army Camp asked two of his staff, Gordon Leighton and Jack Crawford to form a golf committee. The land available was swampy in places and overgrown with tussock and bullrushes. In essence this was the beginning of the Trentham Camp Golf Club. From swamp and tussock, six greens were carved out of the scrub. Over the ensuing years sheep were cleared from the course, drains were established and greens and fairways were developed until finally in 1981, the last four holes were completed turning the course into an 18 hole facility.
The Club was established under the voluntary effort and generosity of members and their families. It took many working bees and many fundraising activities to provide the marvellous facility that we have today. The Club provides an environment for all the community to enjoy with an active membership and where visitors and new members are always welcome.

β β β β β It was very wet the day I took the Mahunga Vets there for a mystery trip. The staff made us welcome and we did play the full 18 holes. An easy going course with plenty of trees to avoid also some very deep ditches all added to the fun.12 of us got wet but we all enjoyed the day
thank you Trentham golf club

β β β β β Nice little course to play. Narrow tree lines that commands your attention and ball striking skills. Would play there often if it wasn't so far from Wgtn CBD

β β β β β Very nice staff. Attended a disc golf day. The golfers were friendly, the disc golfers were friendly and the courses were nicely laid out. Well maintained ground. Would play again.

β β β β β It favours straight hitters, and challenges those who slice and draw but if u could do three then u stand to score well providing u have a good short and a reasonable putting game. Narrow fairways demands positional planing.

β β β β β Nice straightforward course. Not overly difficult however accuracy off the tee is key as some fairways are fairly narrow. Members and staff very friendly. Overall one of the better courses to enjoy a round on

β β β β β Fantastic course to make you play percentage golf. Was lucky enough to play 18 with a member whom caddied the tour of the terrain.
Always check with the website/or club that the course is open to the public. Value for money aswell, greens can be tricky (aim small - shoot small). Overall, would love to revisit and better my score of 82 which included 3 birdies. ??
Thankyou Trentham
