About The Natural Health Centre
The Natural Health Centre has been providing quality complementary health care to Wellington for over 30 years, establishing itself as a reliable source for a range of therapies; from the conservative to the leading edge.
Peter Waugh founded the Natural Health Centre in Manners Mall in the early 1980s above the whole food restaurant he co-owned, "That’s Natural". Peter was developing a sole practice after returning from study in India in 1980 and the centre evolved out of his desire to work in a group practice which provided a nurturing environment for both clients and therapists.
The Centre expanded and more rooms were needed. In the early 1990's it moved to Courtenay Place and stayed there for over 15 years. We shifted to our 154 Victoria Street in March 2014 spending five years there, and moved to our current premises 64 Dixon St with Dixon St Chiropractic just before lockdown in 2020.
As of March 2021 we have changed form again, still sharing our centre website, now four of us are still working together on Dixon Street and four are working from home and other rooms within Wellington. Please see our Team page and Bookings page to locate members of the diaspora!
The raison d’Γͺtre of the Natural Health Centre continues as it began: to meet all client needs in a safe, comfortable environment, to foster the personal and professional development of the therapists and staff, and to engage in a community conversation about health and well being.

Jason is amazing and even though I was surprised at what he was doing to help me with my back issues, meaning it is not anything like a physio or chiropractor has done in the past, the results were incredible. Hard to get an urgent booking or an appointment some days, but that's the challenge when they are so good and so popular, but worth seeing them even if you do have to wait.

β β β β β I have been seeing Odette Wood for massages for the last six months on a regular basis, she focuses and understands the body & problem areas and has released areas of muscle tension with holistic & strong massages I highly recommend Odette as a massage therapist. I have also seen and recommend Jason Chu who is also very good particularly with back issues

β β β β β I wish everybody had a Sybill in their life. When I booked my first session with Sybill, I had absolutely no idea what to expect. In fact, it was actually my mum that had booked the session for me after she had raved about her own experience for weeks and thought it could help with my anxiety. I am forever grateful that she convinced me to go because Sybill has changed my life. She was gentle, patient, and personalised the appointment to suit my needs. Although the things she taught me appeared very simple on the surface, they were supported by a wealth of knowledge and understanding. They are lessons I have employed every day since. It feels as though she has taught me how to actually use my body and find a deep strength in both my mind and body that I had forgotten about. I am so excited about all that she has taught me and I can't wait for my next session. She's a gift to us all and you'd be silly not to experience all that she has to offer.

β β β β β I have been seeing Sybill for over a year now. I fractured by ankle and her rolfing service has helped me get back to my full range of motion and strength. Not only has Sybill relieved the various pains I was feeling as a result of this injury she has worked on aligning my body overall. She has taught me how every part of my body is connected and provides me with unique exercises that work for me and the tension that I feel. I have noticed my posture has improved and as a result I am walking taller and feel calmer in my everyday life. Not only does Sybill have a positive effect on my physical body but my mental health too. I and thankful for the lengths she goes to help me in all areas of life.
