THE OFFICE PUBLIC HOUSE
The Office Bar is a traditional establishment from 1997 that has taken on a modernized refurbishment in the South Wellington suburb of Newtown that has recently undergone renovations to the main bar and function room. The bar has redeveloped its original brand to reconnect to the local community through its quirky office themed décor.
Newtown is a melting pot of a suburb, traditionally with a working class community but now on the horizon we see more and more of an alternate uprising within our constant busy flowing suburb.
As we aim to keep our 'classic kiwi' themed pub style we are also pushing for that unity within the community to obtain reasonably cheap prices on all products!
And on that note.....
We have introduced burgers, small plates, a wide range of beverages and a decent TV screen or 2 to watch the rugby and hang out with mates regardless of time or day! Don't forget the brand spanking new toilets along with our outdoor balcony area

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A good selection of beer and wine, the barman seemed very knowledgeable about the beer too. A really cozy outdoor area with a gas fire for days when the weather doesn't play nice.
A really relaxed vibe with a good music playlist and seating looking out on to the street for the people watchers.
There are pokies here to if you enjoy a punt.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice little boozer. Great beer garden, upstairs balcony is good too.
Inside it's cosy, wooden and there's sport on the tele, as well as a TAB games room.
Beer selection was limited but not terrible. It was a bit "lively" and not super cold though, think the beer room needs better cooling; on hot days perhaps grab a bottle from the fridge.
Staff were all lovely and friendly and it's quite big too so finding a seat shouldn't be a problem.
Just the warm beer and lack of character let this place down but I'd deffo have no problem meeting/boozing here.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Standard pub. Downstairs there is a "sports" area with TV's and a pool table. Ground level it has a typical bar with seating. There is also a 1st floor balcony which looks like it would be good on summer afternoons. Food is average, nothing special but filling. Felt safe and friendly.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great vibes, great outdoor area with a heater which is great in the cold (also sheltered from the rain which is brilliant) amazing food and menu, drinks are a good price but need to work on the customer service skills.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I can't speak for the food at all because I didn't have any, but as a bar I really like it, very "local" feel to the place, everyone kind of acts like they know each other even when they don't, the staff were genuinely friendly and helpful and extremely polite about last call, and the little fire outside in the courtyard makes it ideal for any smokers even over Wellington's windy winters. Highly recommend if your new to Newtown and hoping to meet some nice people.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great bar to have a quiet beer and just sit down and watch a bit of sport. Only thing that sucks is they only put sound on for rugby. If you like football there is no sound. ? but hey this is New Zealand. They are not into football. They have good bar food as well to have with the beer you are drinking. Also the staff working here are very good and give good service.
