About The Peak
A proud story to tell.
The Peak has been a story ten years in the making and we are super proud to now be writing the next chapter about partnership, sport and physical activity.
The Peak is on the site of Rototuna High Schools and looks out over the mighty Mount Pirongia. Inspired by the schools aspirational goal of encouraging their students to soar like the kahu the name The Peak embodies reaching new heights and aspiring to climb to the top of your own health and fitness.
The building of this incredible, and much needed facility in Hamilton, was funded by Hamilton City Council and the Ministry of Education. It operates under a shared use agreement between Rototuna High Schools, to meet their curriculum and school sport needs and Hamilton City Council, to provide a premier indoor facility for the community.
Rototuna Indoor Recreation Centre Trust manages The Peak with representation on their board from Rototuna High Schools, Ministry of Education, Hamilton City Council and Sport Waikato.

They have great equipment, and the fees are cheap with no locked in term fee which means we can rock up when we can.
Staff are lovely too.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Brand new sports hall designed for a variety of sports. For courts side to side, great for futsal volleyball and basketball. Bleachers only in court 4 if you want to book for your event. Friendly and helpful staff, ready and willing to provide accurate and on the spot information. Prices are honest. This space is in Rototuna, just next to the Junior and Senior High School. The only flipside is that there aren’t many places to eat nearby.
