About The Toy Shop - European and British Automotive Specialist
Long-time clients of The Toy Shop will remember UG, as she is fondly referred to. As the oldest member of our courtesy car fleet, this Range Rover Classic was looking worse of wear when we retired her from service, putting her up for sale. Thankfully, one of our passionate clients saw an opportunity to give her a new lease on life, and the Range Rover Classic Soft Dash Restoration began.
The team began the restoration process by stripping her down ready for paint, rejuvenating the original paint colour back to a showroom finish. Once she returned to the workshop, the team overhauled the electrics and brakes. They then added some creature comforts and fitted the replacement badges to finish off the restoration.
This once hard-working courtesy car now has a new lease of life. And she’s still a regular visitor to the workshop for routine maintenance and a bit of TLC.

They have a beautiful, clean workshop & toy lounge, where you can relax & wait for your car whilst having a chat to one of their knowledgeable team. I love that they talk to you in plain English & explain everything to you before they commit to doing anything. They also tell you what it's going to cost, so there are no surprises!
Best of all, as a car lover myself, they know their cars or 'toys' & you can chat to them about everything to do with European or British Cars.
They love your Porsche or Land Rover or VW etc. as much as you do :)

We don’t waste our time with just any mechanic anymore, we prefer a specialist. They know what they’re doing, get the job done and are always on time. Exceptional service! ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ AVOID like the plague!! Cannot follow simple instructions from VTNZ. Failed warrant was provided, instructions emailed & verified, some work done, just enough to get it to pass but will fail next time. Original problem not fixed & when asked was incredibly abusive. Unbelievable experience, do not EVER put yourself or your vehicle through dealing with this outfit.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It was a long time ago my father and I went for a ride in my father's friends new Mk 9 Jag and from a very early age always wanted one of the big cats. Admittedly a long time passed but during lockdown I thought its now or never. I sourced a very tidy 2004 XJ8. An AA test was done, few minor things not to worry about however, the head liner did need replacing. The deal was done.
Phoned 3 companies, The Toy Shop was the only one to respond, head liner replaced fantastic job.
Quite some time later the car started to cut out and go into creep mode always on a left hand turn.
So to cut a very long and frustrating story short, not only for me, but also for Trevor and his team, eventually their determination and persistence finally paid off, the car is going really well.
I have no hesitation in recommending Trevor and the team. If there are doubts just go and talk to them
