S	Sena Smith on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Been here a few times, always seem to be a new Chef. Not many meals to choose from. The 2 female waitresses were really nice but the male waiter needs to pull his pants up! Probably wouldn't come back again.
R	Robert Turner on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ What a find. What an awesome cafe! We were driving Dunedin to Christchurch January 9th 2022 and decided to take the small Waimate detour off SH1. Waimate was once a thriving wealthy town and has some wonderful old buildings like the one that houses this cafe. Great coffee. Great food. Great service. Very nice outdoor seating with shade or sun. The do dinners too I think. It’ll be our regular stop now.

Met with a friendly and informative staff member, we took our seats in the sunny and sheltered outdoor patio area. We chose the Waimate Platter and it was fresh and just what we love in a shared platter. The bottle of bubbles went down well too! All very good value for money. We'd recommend for sure.

With having allergies myself our waitress was amazing and very understanding. Both meals were outstanding , we will most certainly be back.

Pleasant contemporary surroundings which wouldn't look out of place in Auckland. Looking forward to next visit Update 10-01-21 Visited again last night with a friend from Auckland Again, suitably impressed They have a new menu and we decided to share a couple of pizzas ? We went for a Shepherd, containing Marinated Lamb, Garlic Butter, Potatoes ( yes, really ! ) Rosemary, Aioli and BBQ sauce And a Rain Forest which really kicked the flavour train up a gear... Consisting of...Curried Beef chunks, Banana slices, Roasted Cashews, Coriander and Aioli Both were magnificent ( Top marks to Paul the Monday night sous chef ) These were chased down by a few of the local beers ? served up by Rick the capable and knowledgeable manager and the lovely Claudia who even under that covid mask, you can tell when she's smiling ( Oops, maybe she was laughing at us ) ? Anyway, a great evening, good ( and VERY filling ) food and enjoyable company A must visit on the itinerary of anyone visiting South Canterbury
B	Boss Parkhill on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The local attraction that attracts! Growing up in Timaru and now I travel for work a bit and from memory, there wasn't much going in Waimate, up til now. The Waimate Kitchen & Bar offer a range of food and desserts. As much as I would like to try them all I just couldn't (that also means more visits require?) there have the spaces to fit in people for large function or if you're just popping in for a quick lunch then get away. The service was great, I was there on a sunny day and surely there were busy with a great outdoor space that the sun shine on and shelter from the wind. The food was good I ordered the chickens which was quite meaty and finished off with a mousse, which I struggled a bit doing it alone. Had 2 coffees, they were good too. Would recommend it to anyone local or passing by especially on a sunny to enjoy the outdoor area or being cozy inside, whatever your preference. Thanks team!

Food was great ;) Would definitely be back and recommend to anyone in the area. Thanks again guys, keep up the great work. A real asset to Waimate.
