Absolutely GREAT introduction to woodworking for me. There was information about safety and skills, and the opportunity to make a spatula out of a block of wood. What a totally satisfying experience. The workshop is clean and tidy - good tools, good dust extraction, good lighting. Felt safe. Comfortable space. I gained confidence and was delighted with my efforts. I used the spatula when making my dinner - onion, bacon and chicken liver - sauteed. Yum! And everything made better by the fact that I had made the wooden spatula which sat in my hand, with just the right weight and balance. I cannot rate this workshop highly enough. I will be back... many times. Thank you Tim. You're a great teacher.

Would recommend this course! Was organised when we came in with a station for each of us with all the tools we needed to make a spoon. Courtney was kind, friendly and knowledgeable, ever encouraging? Tim is passionate about The Warren and getting us comfortable in a new setting. Class size of 8 was the perfect size to work together through the process. Last star would have been for a few reasons. We finished much later than planned. Maybe teacher could have helped us all achieve finishing on time by letting us know where we should be up to each step of the way. We also weren’t told lunch plans ahead of time, just letting us know to bring our own lunch would have been helpful and more organised but maybe I should have asked before the day to clarify. And lastly, I wished we could have made a longer handled spoon for the price we paid instead of a coffee scoop size spoon. I will recommend this course to my friends as I felt so proud of myself coming away with making a beautiful spoon at the end of the day. It’s something I will cherish and use in my kitchen, and now that I’ve hand carved a spoon I have newfound respect for all the hand carvers out there! My hand was so sore from all the hard work!! Thank you Courtney and Tim for the great experience

The Warren is incredible! It's a bunch of passionate people who've made a community to share knowledge about woodworking. Not often you find a spot so welcoming and warm. I've done the spoon carving class and the 'all you need to know about wood' class. Both were excellent fun.

I took my 2 mates here for a cheeseboard experience for their birthdays and we absolutely enjoyed the day. Tim was an awesome, fun teacher with so much patience. Thank you for coming up with a great initiative, we will definitely recommend this workshop to other people :)

Awesome initiative by Tim and the team. Well kitted-out workshop with everything you need to get started and build a little confidence - whether whittling spoons or holding chisels for the first time. I had a great time in my first course and will be back for more!

Such an awesome space at The Warren. Like your Granddad's workshop expanded to the max. Lovely vibe of old wood and lovingly looked after tools. I had a great day learning to make a coffee scoop with Courtney. I'd never done anything like this before and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Pretty chuffed with my spoon! Would definitely recommend attending a course at The Warren.

Did a spoon carving workshop at the Warren and it was super great! Really well organised, the space is fabulous, Tim and Courtney were enthusiastic and encouraging in sharing knowledge and making sure we had everything we needed to make wonderful spoons. Highly recommend! - only minus is it's a bit pricey...!

I recently completed the woodworking with handtools for beginners class here and thoroughly enjoyed it. I learned how to use a bunch of new tools and am so happy with my footstool! Tim and Chris are super knowledgable and so welcoming. I'd recommend this community workshop to anyone who wants to learn woodworking or has a project on the go.
