★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This place has a great setting with the historic Wharf and being right beside the water.
When I first went there maybe 3 years ago it had lovely fish and chips.
Sadly I stopped there on my way to Matarangi and found the fish is now pre frozen and wasn't that fresh tasting.
I don't know why a place like this,which also sells fresh fish,changes to frozen fish.
They had the recipe right in the first place, and now they do this.
Still worth a visit but not as good as it used to be.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ If your expectations of quality of food, value, and service are low, you will like this place. The discerning, however, will not. The fish did not taste fresh. The fish burger's tartar sauce was unpleasant and gloopy. Service staff need a manager to make sure tables are prepared for customers. We were dining in, but our and other diners' vaccine passes were not checked. A pity, as it is a location with potential.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Absolutely brilliant. The fish and chips were fresh and the batter excellent. Some of the best I've ever had actually. Excellent staff too. Good beer selection and a fantastic spot to sit outside and relax. Definitely recommend!!
