Great location, quality service and reasonably priced food and drinks. Located across the street from Thames Hospital and the St. George Anglican Church, right next door to Lamp Book Shop on MacKay Street. The building was built in 1872 and used as a home and vicarage, and later purchased by Thames Club in 1907. As you walk through the front arch and into the property the imagination goes wild with curiosity, and the ideas begin to flow. The spacious cafΓ©/restaurant with its beautifully polished wood finishes and large bathrooms, leading into a private court yard and garden, with water bowls available to keep your pets hydrated. It would be cool if the cafΓ© sold treats for our four-legged friends. Good dog-friendly cafΓ©s are hard to come by these days. The staff are friendly and very welcoming, and work in an effective and efficient way. The menu is creative, the service is quick and the food is flavoursome. The cafΓ© serves an aromatic, dark roasted blend by Red Cherry Roasters Co., based in Cambridge, Waikato. This blend of coffee (if prepared well) can be a game-changer – a point of difference in a town like Thames. I worked with the previous owner of Red Cherry so am familiar with the brand. The amount of latte art patterns you can do with this coffee would blow your mind, with it's thick darkened caramel-coloured crema you can create a beautifully contrasted latte art design with ease. Everything is reasonably priced and decent quality. If you're after a coffee then I suggest you ask for a sugar as it's going to taste extremely bitter or overly sour. One of the owner's is lovely and the other is someone you should steer clear of if you are wanting to have a good day. Had a beautiful lunch here, crumbed chicken burger and chips. My request for no buns was no issue at all.The handmade chips were crisp and flavorsome.

Incredibly helpful and generous staff. Considerate of persons with disabilities. Prompt service. Cabinet food erred on the side of sweet, but looked nice. We tried scones and fresh shortbread which were lovely. There is outdoor seating that benefits from shade, and this is a dog friendly place

What a great find! Food was lovely and priced very well. Great Coffee and although we didn't have the food in the cabinet, it looked lovely and some good choices.
