★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Price was pretty steep for what you get and considering how far out of town the place is. Air BnB would have been better. We rented a private room
For $110 a night and didn't even get hair conditioner or proper shower gel. We stayed at this place thinking it would have a nice communal vibe like most hostels. But this place was a ghost town. The only person we met was a cranky German who cranked the noise up on his laptop so that we couldn't even watch a movie on the
Main Tv. Disappointing. Only positive I can say is that the staff are really nice at least.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ So much like home! Fireplace, clean and comfortable beds, friends to play shishbish with, and a very well equipped kitchen! Israel's I definitely encourage you to visit, it's a great Central place for hiking and climbing! Great place nearby to jump in a river too!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This backpacker is 5mins from the wanaka lakefront but far enough to feel like you are living in the country.
We stayed 2 nights, and I have to say it's the best backpacker I have ever stayed at....
Chris and Uta manage the accommodation, and they are so friendly and welcoming. And they truly put that personal touch in to everything and make you feel like you are at home.
So why should you stay here?
Free wifi, and good wifi everywhere
Awesome beds. Not too hard, not too soft
TV in bedroom
Towels and soap provided
Plenty of safe parking
Nice bedding
Nice heating
Huge kitchen and fully equipped.
Very very clean everywhere.
Huge lounge area with big fireplace and plenty of games and books and a big big tv in the lounge area
Beautiful grounds, flowers and fruit trees
I would definitely stay here again, and normally I'm quite picky on where I stay but this place I can't find any fault at all.
Chris and Uta are so hard working, their standards are very high, so if you are looking for a place in wanaka then definitely stay here.
We felt like we were at home here. And that's a hard thing to find when you are not at home.
Definitely worth it, and reasonable rates but top quality service.
Clean and quiet and very safe. Don't look any further if you want a comfortable place to stay.
