Vision:  To be the preferred and best competitive and social bowling club in Porirua City

Purpose:  To be a vibrant and healthy club, financially, administratively, competitively and socially

The Club started as a one green club in 1954 with a shed as a clubhouse. A second green was opened in 1973 and in 1974 a more modern extension was added to the clubhouse. In 1982 a second level was added to the clubhouse which enabled functions to he held and for the club to be made available for hire.

With financial assistance from the Porirua City Council’s “Shared Responsibility Scheme” the number 2 green was converted to a synthetic surface in 2002.

The club has been fortunate over the years in that many of our members have distinguished themselves at Centre and National level.

The quality of the club’s greens has always been to a very high standard and they are used regularly for Bowls Wellington and Bowls New Zealand tournaments.

With Titahi Bay being a peninsula of Porirua City, the club is in close proximity to the tennis club, golf club, surf lifesaving club and a RSA.

Like all Sporting clubs, Titahi Bay is operating in an environment of change and is adapting to ensure its future viability and sustainability.  The Club is open 364 days a year being closed only on Christmas Day.

‘Come Bowling at the Bay’

The Titahi Bay Bowling Club can offer a diverse range of activities and facilities for it’s members and visitors.  From the ‘Bay View’ Function Lounge which commands scenic views over the Bay with seating for 120 +, full catering and bar services, to the Rose Garden BBQ area that provides a tranquil outdoor area for a variety of functions and events. Both of these areas are ideal for Birthday’s, Weddings, Conferences, Seminars, Musicals, Awards Nights, Team Building days and much more and are available for private hire.

The Club has 2 bars, 16 rinks (8 Lawn & 8 Astro), Sky TV, a Gaming Room, Pool Table & Competitions, Housie on Thursday nights, Membership draws, Raffles and Pick the Joker on Friday nights. A full bowling programme throughout the year ensures that all sections of the club are well catered for. In addition the Club supports and runs 3 major charity bowling events during the year raising funds for worthwhile local charities. A warm welcome is assured to all and membership is available from $20.00.
