β β β β β What can I say except hip hop hooray! TJ Katsu is the perfect salmon to my avocado, the teriyaki to my chicken, the unagi to my rice. 12/10 no cap.

β β β β β An excellent sushi and katsu cafe. It's a full imersive experience in Japanese in Wellington cafe culture. From the freshly made, carefully prepared food through to the decor and J-Pop music in the background. Makes you feel like doing some karaoke afterwards.
The vegan spring rolls are awesome. Generally the food is well priced and great value.
Staff are wonderful and helpful if you want to know more about what you are eating. They enjoy it when you order in Japanese, even when it's been a while since you have done so.
Certainly worth paying a visit.

β β β β β Authentic Japanese cuisine made by experts. Spicy Chicken don is recommended! Spicy! Hot! Tasty! Love it very much. Every single dish is served with miso tofu soup. Sushi is self-serve. Price starts from 2 nzd. You can choose your drink from the fridge. The cashier is charming - smile all the time - made this restaurant enchanted.

β β β β β Reasonable price and good size of the dish. Tariyiki dishes come out too sweet for me. The curry and the sushi are all good.

β β β β β Freshest and best sushi I have ever ate. Staff are constantly bringing out new and fresh sushi. As TJ Katsu are so popular, the sushi doesn't just sit there all day so the avocado doesn't taste odd and the vegetables don't wilt. Lovely staff, premises and great loyalty stamp card system. Also a fantastic place to sit down and enjoy your meal

β β β β β The staff is friendly and helpful, there are options for your own container with a 5% discount and loyalty cards to get freebies. In the evening, they may put out $6.9 boxes. Otherwise, the prices are OK, but a lot of the time the crispy things are soggy instead. Besides all that, the thing that upset me the most in terms of experience was the loud and annoying pop music that had nothing to do with the Asian/Japanese vibe and decor of the place and made me want to take my food and eat anywhere other than there ?

β β β β β I had sushi from TJ Katsu for the first time in a while recently and was really disappointed. Their sushi used to be so much better than the other sushi chains but it seems that the quality has gone down. The rice in the sushi didn't taste particularly good, it was overall rather tasteless. It's a real shame as I used to enjoy this place.

β β β β β I've made a number of visits here in recent months, keep coming back for one of their menu items Katsu Chicken Curry. Taste amazing always full of flavour. Service is friendly and food brought out promptly, the one I visit in Manners Street closes early so rush into Wellington to grab a quick dinner. There is a good selection for those who want to grab a bite on the run or there is plenty of seating if you want to eat in.
