★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Didnt stay but called in for a beer on a hot aftetnoon. Nice, cosy, friendly place. The gardens/landscaping are lovely and the views awesome. We will be back!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great hosts who are willing to share the history and have a natter if you want too. The cottages are well equipped. Take some Sandfly repellant for the area but it's no big deal. The peace and tranquility along with the birdlife and scenery is worth starting an extra night. A beer at the smallest bar in NZ just to day you have shouldn't be forgone

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ As soon as we arrived , the owner was welcoming us, very friendly, my first time there and it was wonderful. The scenery is amazing, the gardens,pond, and outside set up was immaculate, a real credit to them, will definitely be coming back and would really recommend people to stop in there for a beer in the sun with the best views, many thanks

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Called in for a look around and a coffee stop on route to Abel tasman. Straight of Clint greeted us at the car park and welcomed us, and invited us into the place and called over Helen who was very tentative and served us coffee and biscuits. Helen then asked if we would like a little tour around and showed us some cool history and amazing views of the valley. Really nice people, really friendly and extremely welcoming. Only if we had more time to hang around! Thanks guys ?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We had a wonderful 3 night stay at Tophouse. Clint and Helen have recently taken on ownership and they are doing a great job with it. It has a beautiful view and is the place to visit and stay if you want a tranquil retreat.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Tophouse Hotel exceeded our expectations! The rooms were very comfortable and the roast chicken dinner delicious not to mention the bacon and egg breakfast. Our charming hosts Clint and Helen even let us use their waterblaster to clean out bikes.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I loved staying here, and have come back again. Just up the road from the lake(6km) it gets the wonderful views, quiet and charm of a historical hotel. The inside rooms are lovely, but I've stayed in the chalets that are 1 min walk away and self contained. I opted to have dinner and breakfast in the house which is a highlight. Worth a visit fir a drink, dinner or overnight stay. I almost expected the Cobb&Co stage coach to pull up, it really is a bit of living history.
