★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The new owner of Total Span Manawatu should have had customer service lessons from the old owner before he brought it. Unfortunately we brought from the old owner and weren't ready to build until the new one took over. Everything was too much trouble, molehills got turned into mountains and communication was intermittent. Be wary. To be charitable maybe the new owner has overwhelm at running a new business but teething problems can be understood a poor attitude can not. Final garage was of nice quality due to good kit set and the local builder who subcontracted to actually do the work was good. The person running the show needs to work on his professionalism.

For a bit of context, my partner works shifts and can be a tad grumpy if woken up from her much needed sleep! The team at Totalspan Manawatu worked with us to plan site visits and work etc at times that suited us despite not being the easiest process for the company. This flexibility was absolutely amazing.
Every single contractor used by Totalspan Manawatu was amazing. From the team that prepped the site and poured the pad to the builder and the team that installed our stunning cedar feature door, the quality of work and attitude of those doing the work was exemplary.
Choosing Totalspan Manawatu to build our double garage was the best decision we could make. They will get all our future business and hand on heart I recommend them to anyone in our region.

Our garage was built to such a high standard, it's perfect down to every detail (down to every single cladding screw being at the exact same height and spacing!) - everybody that's seen it is amazed at the quality, and even more amazed when they find out what it cost.

Communication from Scott and the team was great, and they made the building process extremely easy for us. The building team were very efficient (we were amazed at how fast it all happened) and tidy, and the workmanship is great. They were very accommodating (Scott went out of his way to visit us at times that suited us, and they even managed to reuse the door off the old shed at our request).

However, the workmanship of Totalspan Manawatu on this project was very very poor.
The rear wall of the shed is still leaning around 3 inches to the side from the bottom to the top.
I would suggest approaching a local builder with a good history to erect the build and also a concrete person who is diligent and prepared to measure and ensure everything is in the right place.
The total span team did chase their tails for us to try to get this right after it was wrong but the trouble starts at the foundation and without a good base you can’t build a good outcome..

Tried to get a price on a carport and could not get a straight answer. I emailed then rung. Finally got an answer but as soon they gave me the price I was told that they would not do business with me. Rang head office and explained what happened. Asked if I could get the carport sent from another shop and was told I was not allowed to do that. then I get a lecture about having to use the shop in my area and that I could not get one from another using a different address. So despite the very bad customer service and total disrespect from the shop I have to use them or go somewhere else.
