Having both worked in the construction industry for many years in the supply side, they were always baffled at how much hire equipment was always on site. After Jordan driving passed a bigger equipment supplier and enquiring about hiring a digger for up home, he was told 90% of their gear is on long term hire due to the construction work going on around Wellington (Transmission Gully as an example).
This made him think - why not buy a digger of his own and then hire it out when it isn't in use to help pay for it? After having great success with that just from advertising on Facebook, he caught up with Simon for a coffee about other matters and as the conversation went on, Jordan mentioned how he purchased his own digger and had been hiring it out through the week! Jordan let Simon know how awesome it was going and that he contemplating buying more equipment to keep up with demand! - this intrigued Simon and after a couple more coffees- and a few phone calls, not even 24 hours later, Wellington Digger Hire Limited was born!
