★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Went in for an oil change and transmission fluid top-up. Not only was the mechanic over 30 minutes late (not a huge deal), but they hit me with a $215 bill after. Guess it's my fault for not getting a quote first.
I've heard of it happening around NZ: mechanics charging crazy rates to backpackers who aren't potential repeat customers. Funny thing is, I live in Taupo. Do yourself a favor. Go to Adams Motors or Taupo Mechanical. Much fairer service.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My car pulled up lame with an over tired alternator, which was on the cusp of Chernobyl-ing! Thankfully, Tom (who was SUPER helpful!) was able to diagnose and track down the part needed, before things went completely Kaput! The team here are awesome to deal with, Tom was extremely knowledgable, and was able to get me up and running without any hiccups! I would 100% recommend these guys if you're ever in the area, top blokes!

After having a terrible time with my old machanic I thought I would try somewhere else to fix the squealing noise my steering was making.
The guy came straight out to see me and looked at the car right away.
After playing around with it for about fifteen minutes he fixed the problem my old machanic had made and best of all, he didn't charge me a cent.
Seriously thrilled to bits with these guys!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Took my car here about 5 years ago to get the cam belt done and I’m still furious to this day.
They done it all fine but then forgot the most simple thing. Connecting the radiator fan back up. 1 PLUG. Drove 1hour non stop then as soon as a stopped my radiator blew and my engine overheated, cost me money and time but why I’m so annoyed about it is because they denied it. Don’t take your car here. And it’s a rip off.
