★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Can there possibly be something as totally insane as "too much breakfast"? I never thought so. Until Wednesday morning. Three of us stopped at "Two Fat Chefs" (alarm bells should already be ringing) on the Marine Parade, Paraparaumu Beach for a birthday breakfast for the teenager. We arrived and were greeted by very friendly staff but no fat chefs so felt comfortable with our decision to stop in. BIG MISTAKE. I ordered the omelette with ham, onions, and tomato. No where on the menu did it say that I had to stipulate whether I wanted chicken eggs or ostrich eggs (plural). Seriously, the tomato was a steak tomato cut in half and hidden between the folder omelette out of sight. Yep, it was THAT big. Wifey had the bacon and banana on waffles. I say waffles but what would best describe them would be house bricks. The teenager who had never been before went with scrambled eggs on toast ... probably the best decision of the three of us. Seriously though, if you're hungry and want some awesome food made by a super friendly team, stop in and see the Two Fat Chefs, you won't be disappointed. But if you're on a diet then it might be best if you asked for the kids menu.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Food was fantastic. Great quantity and quality. Served in a very timely matter by a super pleasant young male server.
Only disappointment was lack of drinks choice. Totally out of Lemon, lime and bitters both diet and plain. Diners with me weren't keen on sweet Foxton fizz and orange juice at $8 was pretty steep.
That said will definitely return when celebrating an occasion.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The team here at Two Fat chefs are the bees knees. They’re fast, polite and very welcoming. We come here on the regular and always leave happy and full. The meals at awesome and generally come out super fast. The wholesomeness of this place is unreal. Keep it up team! We love it

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A rather unassuming cafe from the outside, two fat chefs has more space inside than you may think. The food here is generous and delicious. Sit down for breakfast, lunch or teas or take away food from their cabinet.
The local retired community has discovered this place, so you may find it difficult to get a seat at times. But if you can get in, you'll discover why they keep coming back.
