★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Hungry? Peckish? Maybe even esurient? If you want to eat the best sausage rolls in Timaru you have to go to U Bake out at Washdyke. This tiny bakery, tucked away on SH1 just along from the Caltex gas station, not only does the best sausage rolls in South Canterbury but also has a tempting selection of pies, cakes, breads and filled rolls. Try a mini doughnut filled with custard, jam or caramel. And don’t forget to grab a packet of their delicious seed cake sticks. Mmmmm…salty.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We travel all over the south island and have tryed a coffee from almost every location there is. You wont find better than ubake there coffee's are the Best. Always stop in whenever we go through timaru. Pies are awsome also really big and tasty great rolls to. A must vist you wont be disappointed

Christchurch for golf and to visit this bakery. Really great all round bakery with amazing selection and top level hot x buns. Wasn’t a fan of the non display of prices on items and felt the pork and apple pie was a little crumbly but overall it’s a very good bakery. Wish we had one in Christchurch.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Best bakery ever ! Won the BEST HOT CROSS BUNS IN NZ in 2018. They do their own version of Subway, the TRADIE ROLL with either beef, chicken or ham fillings
They have just come up with a new creation. The Cheeseburger Pie ! I must apologise that I'd actually peeled the top off and eaten it BEFORE I took this photo...
But pie really did taste like a cheeseburger :)
