★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is the first time I've been blown away with how rude and dismissive the customer service representative I got was. All I asked for was the total length of the trailer, including the tow bar of the large trailer. Please review your recorded calls. The FERRY asks for it.
I'm also a bit frustrated that I have to spend an extra $222, because of the lack of trailers available from the lower South Island to Wellington region. There's no manual pairings.

U-Tow have apologised and refunded the arbitrary and unlawful 'inconvenience fee'. Which is the minimum they needed to do to avoid the Disputes Tribunal. But I am appreciative they put it right and saved me that hassle.
Consequently I have increased my rating, but I leave the original below for information and context.
It is imperative that U-Tow solve the unattended return problem (which is as simple as giving the hirer a padlock and getting a photo on return).
There is simply too much risk for me to consider hiring a U-Tow trailer other than from a 24x7 facility, especially while their contract wording does not align with their rules.
UPDATE #1
A short while after leaving the [original] review below, i received this message: "We have billed a $150 inconvenience fees for not adhering to the procedures of hire and T&Cs."
Which is not true, at least according to my close reading of the terms, and more importantly is not in any way an authorised charge mentioned in their terms.
Why would anyone trust a company that arbitrarily adds charges because their customer service rep is fragile?

Worst customer service I've experienced in a long time on their 0800 number. Had to hang up on the guy to get him to stop shouting over me.
While the actual trailer hire went well, the kiosk booking UI is flakey, very inconsistent, and just poorly implemented. They also need to sort out secure trailer returns in the event the agency is unattended. It's not hard.
