Urban Edge Hair n Beaute - Remuera

I am very pleased with my recent visit to Urban Edge Hair. Such a comfortable and friendly environment. I am so happy with the cut and will be back for sure!

Well, first off, my eyes were stinging, my nose was running and my throat was burning. I got the keratin treatment off a grab one deal but there was no air flow in the room, I could barely breathe! I was praying to sweet baby Jesus that I would make it out of here alive! The lady with the short hair and glasses who did myself and my friends hair was not friendly and didn't talk the whole three hours. At the end the lady showed us the door with her hand without a word and I told her that the grab one deal said there was keratin shampoo included in the deal, after a bit of disagreeing with me I showed her the description on the deal and she walked away then came out with one bottle and pushed us out the door. How are we supposed to share one bottle? I went back inside to complain and they acted like they don't understand English all of a sudden and would repeat themselves! I will be contacting grab one, they gave us one bottle instead of two as advertised on the grab one voucher. False advertisement! *EDIT - can't reply to the owners reply* My friend booked us in, she found the grab one deal! it was definitely Urban Edge Hair n Beaute in Remuera!

You NEED to change your keratin product or ventilate the salon. I bought a grab one voucher a week prior to reading the reviews of the place.. I did the morning prior to my appointment and was very close to cancelling but thought surely it wouldn’t happen to me. I’m completely put off grab one and this salon after my unfortunate experience. As soon as the keratin went on, my eyes stung, my nose burned and I coughed on and off the whole time. When asking about it my response was my hair was long and that’s why. I’ve had keratin several times and never have had this experience, I also have friends in hair dressing and all agree this isn’t normal and something needs to change. I was EXTREMELY uncomfortable the entire time and had to stand by the door outside while it processed trying to breath. I fanned myself down whilst it was blow dried and not once was I asked if I was ok or if I wanted water in-fact I wasn’t spoken to at all only to be told the basic care for keratin despite me crying from the stinging and coughing on and off. Please don’t put others through this again. You think one bad review would be enough to change things but there are multiple. I couldn’t wait to get out of there and even being home the smell is still so strong. It’s not normal and you need to change if you care about your clients. EDITED* As per every complaint this salon rather than just owing and apologising they justify and make excuses, making it the clients fault. I had my eyes shut the ENTIRE time AND a mask on. There was NO option for a formaldehyde free treatment and regardless it’s NEVER that bad. Your “fan” did NOTHING, you need to invest in PROPER ventilation. Your customer service was beyond a joke as there was none and this response from you amongst all of your others is a clear picture of how you care for clients. Will be spreading the word of how awful this place is! They also convinced me to buy their product as no other product would keep the keratin from working and then told me to not buy the next time from grab one but to go to them instead. Money hungry and poor service. Shame on you!

The keratin treatment was the worst experience I had. It burned my eyes, my nose and my throat!!! They didn't even bother to offer me anything to help with the stinging and burning from the very strong chemical smell. They should assess their keratin products again as this can be seriously hazardous to our health and safety!!! The short haired lady hairstylist was very apathetic during the whole process and didn't talk to me even when she can clearly see me struggling the whole time she was drying the keratin product on my hair!! Customer service is very very poor! I DO NOT RECOMMEND this salon for keratin treatment.?? To answer to salon's response: YOU DID NOT OFFER ME ANYTHING DURING THE WHOLE PROCESS WHEN THE CHEMICAL WAS BURNING MY EYES AND THROAT. I WAS CLOSING MY EYES THE WHOLE TIME BUT IT WAS STILL BURNING MY EYES!?The separate rooms, fan and open windows are not enough ventilation so you need to assess proper ventilation in your salon or change products totally. Hopefully no one gets to experience this again.

The hairdresser Kris is great and professional. He is always patient to communicate with me and get to know the my real needs. The result he created is even better than the image I show him. I will completely come back again. This is my favorite shop in Auckland.

I had a permanent straighten. The stylist was extremely thorough, professional and knowledgeable. The service I received was fantastic and most importantly I am very pleased with my hair treatment.

I bought a hair keratin treatment from grabone and I did hair keratin yesterday morning as soon as the keratin went on, I felt that product smell was really bad and my eyes stung, my nose burned the whole time I was closing my eyes and I couldn't even breath. After finishing I visited my friends and they felt that strong bad smell too. I couldn't breath and it was completely obvious that this product it's rubbish. I asked the guy ,where is this product from? And he said it's italian! Eventually after only 5 hours I start coughing so bad and I felt the smell in my throat and that was a very bad smell in my nose and even my throat . I washed my hair after only 5 hours because I didn't want to loose my health and my hair! I spent $160 and I thought my health is much more worthy, so I washed my hair 3 times to get rid of that rubbish product from my hair and my skin. I couldn't wait for 3 days and loose my health. And still after 3 times washing my hair, my hair is smell awful ? I would never ever go to urban edge hair salon again. Please people do care about your health more than money. I have done keratin treatment for more than 20 times and I have never experienced this in my whole life.

I have been visiting Urban Edge Hair n Beaute for a very long time. I love the friendly atmosphere and exceptional hairdressing services at such a reasonable price! The salon only uses top quality hair products. I enjoy the pleasant scent of their shampoo as well as the magical result of keratin treatment. Nan is my hairdresser. She always listens and gives great style recommendations to suit my hair and lifestyle. She is also a great conversationalist! She can chat with anyone about anything in an easy manner. I always feel relaxed when I'm there. I would highly recommend Urban Edge Hair n Beaute to anyone and everyone!
