★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We are getting a garage built by Versatile Whakatane, contract was signed in November 2018 for build to start February 2019 Finish March 2019. It is still not finished. Lack of communication and transparency from Director and staff. We are not happy .top marks to the one builder and chap who put in boxing/concrete pad .Finally finished 8/5/19. Would never have a build done by Versatile ever again.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Do not use. The salesman is a lovely guy and the builder they contracted was amazing but the project management, communication and professionalism of the versatile team is horrific. The building consent was issued to the wrong valuation number, the councils mistake but picked up by myself not the project manager. They charged me to much for the building consent fee, again only picked up from me. The owner confessed that they then looked back over others and it had happened to others. They never communicated when they would be on-site and I had two dogs to make arrangements to be at another address so they could work. They dug up for the concrete base in the wrong place because even though it clearly said on the paperwork they were to ask me first. The ruined some pretty existing concrete work and now its finally up but I still don't have a CCC for the garage nor the warranty despite numerous calls and assurances that they are coming. They keep blaming the Council however Councils have set time frames they must stick too. It has been over three months since completion Not good enough at all. If 0 stars were an option I would give that.
As a follow on from Versatiles reply I would like to add that they shouldn't have been under any assumption I was ok with what was going on. While I maintained good contact with the salesman I voiced on numerous occasions that I was unhappy with numerous issues. Please note once again that the salesman was lovely and helpful. I have never been copied into any correspondence with the Council except for today just before their reply on here and it said " Hi Laurie any idea on when the CCC will be issued? We are getting bad reviews on social media." And even though you just pass on costs associated with the consent I would imagine you have a duty of care to check through and make sure the right category is being charged considering you make the application on behalf of the customer.
