About Viet Thai Cuisine (Two Bamboo Restaurant)
Hi, I am Andy Huynh, was born and grew up in Vietnam. I started to learn Thai Language &Thai Culture from Vietnam National University in Ho Chi Minh city, then I left for Thailand to further my study at Master's Degree & Doctoral later. After achieving my studying, I started working as a teaching language lecturer at a University in Bangkok, Thailand, meanwhile, I learn a Thai cuisine course as my hobby.
I love Thai cuisine as much as my native one. Actually, I love cooking. I feel happy to cook and serve people with delicious and "wow" dishes.
Therefore, I decided to move to New Zealand, a beautiful country with nice people. I completed a diploma certificate of cooking European food at Cornell Institution of Business and Technology in Auckland from 2017 and started my chef career at Chapel Bar & Bistro in Ponsonby, Grand Windsor Hotel on Queen Street in Auckland.
I moved to Napier from July 2018 and worked for Zigg Zagg Cafe in Napier. Up to 2020, I would like to have my own restaurant on the purpose "to bring tasty dishes from Asia to the Bay".

Not going back and not recommended.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The meals are superb. The highlight for me was the pork belly and coconut prawn main. The pork belly melted or dissolved really in your mouth. The deep fried banana were pillows of banana with ice cream instead of one whole banana cut in half.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Recently, we had the great pleasure to enjoy this beautiful, quaint restaurant. We were visiting from Vancouver, Canada and came across this restaurant by chance. We were pleasantly surprised by the friendly staff, great service and the delicious food. Now that we are back home we were wishing that we could use "Skip the Dishes" to order some of there spring rolls. I strongly suggest if you are ever in Hastings and hungry, you should check out Viet Thai Two Bamboo.
