Richard and Sara Madders

Richard and Sara grew up in a small town in Herefordshire, England and emigrated to New Zealand a little over 11 years ago where they spent the majority of that time living and working in Auckland.
Richard qualified as a funeral director while working for Davis Funerals, one of the largest funeral homes in New Zealand. During his time there he took on additional roles such as assistant operations manager and branch manager at their East Auckland branch which led him to being approached for this role.
Sara has a background in logistics and administration and has most recently worked in the agriculture sector. Although this is Sara’s first foray into the funeral industry, her family back in the UK have their own funeral home so it’s not an altogether foreign concept.
When not at work both Richard and Sara love the outdoors especially walking their little Jack Russell, Alfie, who will quite often be seen dragging them around Waikanae and the local walking tracks. They also enjoy travelling and have been lucky enough to visit many different countries. While the borders are closed they are enjoying re exploring parts of New Zealand in their micro caravan.
They consider themselves extremely fortunate to have been given this opportunity and feel that being able to serve the families of Waikanae and the wider KΔpiti Coast community will be a huge privilege.

β β β β β From the moment we contacted the team after the loss of our dad, our worries disappeared and we knew we were in good hands. Graham and his team made the whole process so easy, they were wonderful with our mother, who was especially taken with the service we received.
As it was around the time the country headed into lockdown, the extra pressure of the pandemic and gatherings was taken care of, being able to have a private ceremony for dad (in case the public one couldn't go ahead), and then a public service with the ability for all our family and friends to still join us via the live feed was invaluable.
If Graham and his team were worried about the changing lockdown conditions they did not show it, we never felt anything but absolute care from them.
