★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Our go to hikoi and summer swim spot. Would be nice to have bins onsite as there are picnic tables but no bins. Could deter people from littering and ruining the place.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nicely kept reserve with tracks, picnic areas and swimming holes. A great place to get away from the bustling city. A good area to walk the dog on a lead and get the children away from their electronic devices. Lots of surprises to keep up the interest as you follow the tracks.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Wonderful trekking with a beautiful view of the LowerHutt dam which is one of the oldest in NZ built in 1800. Gum loop track is highly recommended for the intermediate trekkers. There are some swimming holes too.. well maintained except for a little distance where there are fallen trees and there are sign boards to guide on same and you can also see they have removed few. On the whole wonderful one day trek experience.
