★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Fabulous walk through beautiful unspoiled bush. The walk is fairly rugged, I.e. not a family stroll. Lots of steep steps and very boggy in places. The maintenance is evident, and appropriate to the environment. I wouldn't have it any other way. Quite hard to see the top waterfalll though, as lots of bush in the way but that's ok. The lower one was clearer. I absolutely love this walk. I'm 63 and keep moderately fit - I would recommend people to have a moderate level of fitness on this walk.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It’s quite muddy after raining day but the waterfall is really pretty and the whole way is surrounding with green forest. Worthy to take a walk

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Amazing scenery but track in very poor condition and very overgrown. One section totally wiped out by a slip.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Grant place for a half day walk on omw of the hottest days. Track was cool and well marked with plenty of punga in the muddy bits.. Waterfalls spectacular. Crystal clear water.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Track is a bit overgrown and needs maintenance, long pants would help protect your legs. There was a small rocky stream before the waterfall turnoff that had more drinkable water. I think this is one of the larger waterfalls in the area. About 2.5 hours to complete walk.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautiful walk with 2 waterfalls and fantastic native bush with many varieties of flora.
Walking track sometimes med/hard in places so not for everyone. A bit overgrown but we'll marked.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Walking Waipohatu track near the southern most point of the south island. The track was one less travelled. Long, lush and overgrown it had well maintained paths soft with fern fronds made the walk simple to follow. Big thanks to local Promotions groups and the Toi Tois Lions Club for this. After playing fetch with two fantails, we found ourselves up the steep slope. Photographing amazing falls found at Waipohatu we continued to walk the loop track when something startled, swooped out of the large ferns that tickled our faces. Landing in a near by tree it sat, silent and curious. A Morepork! This small brown owl let me capture it on my camera and enjoy its company. Very lucky and excited we finished this beautiful bush walk, thankful for what mother nature had provided

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Gorgeous native bush walk - first part is an easy access stroll, next part to the waterfalls a little harder. Muddy and slippery in places. Nice place to picnic!
