★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This place is a secret and onecwell worth finding. All types of accommodation cabins cottages motorhome parking, farm tours, hunting and fishing. Yes we love Waioeka gorge, and this station is quiet. We first came here with our flyfishing club AFAC and stop by here now when we can

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great 3 day stay in the house there which has fridge, freezer, full power, two flushing loos, 2 showers. Comfy sofas, tv, wifi. You could make your stay here as busy or as quiet as you would like. We were relatively slothful. Lots of eating and drinking interspersed wth swims in the river which is beautifully clear. The weather was just stunning. We had dinner wth owners Mary and Bob. They're lovely...Good people. I even got a fly fishing lesson from a very pleasant outdoors chap named Hugh. He and his partner Jill (again a great woman I could tell would become a friend) stay there in a cabin and help the owners out. I did not want to leave, I voted for telling bosses the group was going to have to self isolate there for 7 days but others had to get back home. Thanks Wairata Station, I feel very relaxed.
