About Waitara Central Kindergarten
Being part of a Kindergarten Taranaki committee or whānau group is a great way to get to know people, learn more about your child’s learning environment and contribute to your community.
Committees and Whānau Groups work in partnership with our teaching teams and the wider community to support our kindergartens, particularly in the area of fundraising activities, organising social events and working bees.
They also provide a family and community perspective for our teaching teams, which helps develop the direction and culture of our kindergartens.
Working together with teachers, they proactively promote and advocate for Kindergarten Taranaki in the community and provide invaluable help and support.
Local committee and Whānau Group meetings are held once a month and the Annual Meeting for the kindergarten is held in May each year.
New committee or Whānau Group members are welcome at any time during the year, and it is a great way to get to know people in your community. Our kindergartens grow stronger with the support of parents, committee and Whānau groups.
