★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The Walker River begins its flow in the mountains to the west and south of Green Lake on the Northern aspect of Lake Monowai and flows into Monowai adjacent to Shallow Bay and Rogers Inlet.
Lots of trout use this River to Spawn and access to the river is either by boat to its mouth where it flows into Monowai or further up where you cross the Walker River on the track from the boat ramp to Rogers inlet hut.
Boaties need to be aware that if boating near the mouth of this river that the tree stumps etc and rocks extend a fair way out into the lake - quite shallow water a good 200-300 metres out from the mouth of the river.
