Welcome to our beautiful boutique Wallflower - independently owned and operated by Kapiti local Trina Laracy with a lot of support from her wonderful team!

I have worked in fashion my whole life, having grown up with a dressmaking mother and opening my first store at age 21. Over the years I managed boutiques in Napier and Wellington, but I always knew that one day I would be back running my own store again.

After more than a decade working for Voon in Wellington and Kapiti I opened my much loved Paperdoll in Raumati Beach Village in 2011. Then in 2018 I made the decision to open another store and bring my unique style to Coastlands in Paraparaumu.

It has been a wonderful experience, as I love choosing the designs and garments that best fit my stores and clientele. Both my stores are equally tantalising, but with different designs and ranges. My love of fabrics tends towards texture, printed silks, chiffons, crisp cottons, vibrant viscose, and the wonderful eco-friendly Tencel. Our knitwear combines cashmere, fine merino, possum fur, alpaca, and lambs wool.

At Wallflower we aim to provide clothing that lasts, and that will tie in with previous purchases so that over time you can build a wardrobe that works effortlessly. Our beautiful pieces are limited to small numbers so our lovely local customers have the comfort of knowing that they won’t see the same outfit when they’re out and about. Our collections are carefully chosen timeless pieces with a point of difference. If boring is what you’re after, then Wallflower may not be for you!

Wallflower is an expression of my two great loves in life – fashion and people. We offer a boutique fashion experience with the warmth and convenience of a mall setting. It’s a place where people can escape the busyness of life and enjoy the luxury and uniqueness that we offer. A place where people can experience the premium service from our wonderful experienced staff who love fashion and people just like I do! We love to hear all your stories and meet your fashion needs, and we aim to bring fun and a keen eye to your shopping experience. We will work hard to find what suits your shape, style, colour, and personality.
