Absolutely gorgeous, worth a visit at any time of the year. The lakefront on the town side has a beautiful new boardwalk where you can see grebe birds and walk along the marina ⛵to beautiful Eely point. ? Or you can walk from the town to the famous Wanaka Tree in about 15 minutes. You're passing lovely trees (stunning especially in autumn), have a sit on a bench or the beach and definitely don't miss a swim here in summer. Very refreshing ☀️ enjoy Wanaka!

Nice place to sit and chill and gaze at the mountains and lake. Plenty of seating and parking and there's decent toilets by the boat ramp. Just across the road are the shops and eating places. The bakery with the best pies and doughnuts drew me in...

Serene views during spring... love the wanaka lakefront. Went for an evening boat cruise, beautiful sunset behind the snow mountains... would like to go back in summer for a swim in the lake :)

What is it with road closures, detours and major 'upgrades' here, Queenstown and elsewhere ? Makes navigation a bit hairy but good on them taking this rare, uncluttered opportunity to make improvements with minimal disruption to their regular tourists. The shops lakeside brimming over with artistic talent and originality and nourishment for the soul just to look.

Nice and long lakeshore around the Wanaka town, although there may be many tourists around, we still find it peaceful and relaxing here. Nice scenery especially during autumn time. With many parking space, restaurant and public toilet nearby, it is no wonder even the locals love it here.

Get an ice cream, sit and watch the ducks, have a paddle in the clear waters of the lake and visit thatWanakaTree. We decided to do a small hike up to the peak of Mount Iron and were rewarded with stunning 360° views of the area and out across Wanaka and the lake. Awesome ?
