β β β β β WARNING: I can't even give this business one star. Warkworth Auto Electrical supplied me with a FAULTY battery that failed within its warranty period!!
Benny at Warkworth Auto Electrical requested that I take the battery to his wholesaler in Albany, knowing that I had to have the FAULTY battery replaced at my expense to do that. The AA technician said that the battery wasn't charging, it was a dud, it only tested 1.5Volts even after 20-30mins running & he warned that it could be dangerous & leave me stranded, unable to start it again!
So I followed Benny's instructions & took the FAULTY Varta battery to TCM Industries based in Albany.
I previously trusted Benny, at my own expense. I had to pay a trustworthy local mechanic to replace the FAULTY battery & when I delivered it to TCM Industries their representative Alan tested the battery & said "yes, we'll replace that..." Even he tested the FAULTY battery & said that TCM would replace it!
I trusted Benny would do the right thing under the Consumer Guarantee Act, & refund me for the FAULTY BATTERY. It was tested FAULTY by x3 separate professionals. I followed Benny's own instructions & trusted that TCM Industries would send him a replacement battery, to replace the FAULTY battery supplied to him.
I followed Benny's instruction, & he is "The point of sale" responsible under the Consumer Guarantee Act = NZ Law.
Benny & his team previously always seemed professional & competent, but their wholesaler was a total NIGHTMARE to deal with, & called me the following week claiming there was no test done when I delivered the battery back to them, claiming the battery was never faulty & it was my car that was faulty (my car was tested by AA technician, garage mechanic & a TRUSTWORTHY local Auto Electrician).
My car has no electrical fault, but Benny refused even to look at it & said that if I came to his business there would be a BIG FIGHT.
I said that there was no need to fight me, I just wanted to give him every opportunity to DO THE RIGHT THING under NZ Consumer protection Laws!!
To be honest, he seemed threatening. I'm suffering after injury, surgery & rehabilitation & can't even walk properly! It's a total shock to be THREATENED by a service provider while requesting that they HONOUR our NZ Laws & Consumer Protections!!
TCM industries tested the faulty battery when I took it back to them. They said "it is faulty, we will replace it & send the replacement to Benny so that he can credit you"
Benny was the one who told me to take it to them, but of course I needed to pay for a replacement battery from someone else in the meantime $260.00.
I was HOPING that Benny would do the right thing, because he seemed very very angry, & THREATENED me not to attempt to turn up expecting him to work on my car, or give me a refund.
He said that there would be a "BIG FIGHT". It certainly sounded & felt like I was being THREATENED. Benny did not deny this when I spoke to him directly, giving him every chance to be a trustworthy professional & honour the Consumer Guarantee Act.
I said that there doesn't need to be a fight & I don't want to speak to him if he is threatening me, but I need to give him every opportunity to do the right thing & repair the damages done by a faulty product supplied to me by him!
Re his wholesaler:
(The self proclaimed boss of TCM, whose representative accepted that the battery was faulty after testing it himself, & after also tested FAULTY by AA roadside rescue & local Mechanic confirmed that the battery was DEAD, not charging &no fault of the car), has even refused to email me with any details & they still kept the FAULTY battery!
The TCM representative clearly deceived me by making me believe that they would honour the Consumer guarantee & replace the FAULTY battery supplied to Benny at Warkworth Auto Electrical.
Both TCM & Warkworth Auto Electrical are 100% UNPROFESSIONAL & UNTRUSTWORTHY in their business dealings. Next time I will be buying a battery from the AA Roadside Rescue, they are always reliable & ALWAYS trustworthy!!
