★ ★ ★ ★ ★ On 14th Feb I noticed my house had no water. The reason was a burst pipe on the other side of my property (so Watercare's responsibility to fix). I lodged a report online at 7am in the morning and from talking to the neighbours there were multiple reports sent to them about this leak as the water was flowing strongly down the street.
I returned home at 6pm and no one had come to fix the burst pipe. I had to call multiple times during the day before someone came in the evening to attend the leak. The hole they dug up shows the water pressure of the water flowing out (see attached photos). It took them till 11.30pm for them to repair the pipe. Watercare gets 1 star for the following reasons.
- Upon the first call I received an incident number, when I chased up I was given a second incident number indicating your system lost the call despite email at 8.10am saying someone would attend the first incident within 4 hours.
- The burst pipe required that you shut off supply for 19 houses on my side of the street in the evening when most people would be home using water. Watercare's workflow planning is terrible.
- My BIGGEST gripe is the sheer wastefulness and hypocrisy of Watercare. In the 12+ hours the burst pipe was flowing at 25 litres per minute (according to your website) which totals to at least 18,000+ litres down the literal drain. My bill says I use 300 litres/day or 9000 litres/month. You wasted 2 months of my usage in a day yet your bill tells me to keep my shower short because we're in a drought.
When discussing the drought and water conservation I now tell people that saving water is the right thing to do for the planet and their wallet but Watercare is so uncaring and poor at water wastage management that overall our efforts to save are in vain compared to how much water they allow to go to waste.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Out of the blue without any form of notification a watercare rep banged on the door saying he was parking in my drive to turn the water off to work on the water mains. I said not without notification. If there was any obvious need for the 3 water reforms Watercare have brought this on themselves. A WOEFUL company. Still living in the awful dark shadow of Mark Ford.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ i reported a faulty to watercare claimed my water meter switch handle had been rotter and the switch almost disappear. they arranged a guy come to fix it.
guess what? their technician just put a "fake-handle" on the top of my rotten switch and said it had been fixed.
it is a joke, isn't it? i took the photo and video to show the job they had done. it is ridiculous, terrible service.
what a shame when only one company control the water for all of us and there is no any competitor to make they understand what's the service.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ When is watercare going to be available to send out the meter readers again to read our meters in MillDale? Notice our meter hasn't been read for a couple of months. How many people have been overcharged? And now they going to ask for more money July putting up the charges again I bet they send out the meter reading team that month. Hi time they had the same smart meter reader systems like the power supply company use. In my area we have holding tanks that we use to hold rain water and sewage gets pumped out at night into the town sewage system. Time for more houses to have water tanks and not pay water bills.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ If I could give Watercare a zero stars, I would!
Reported a leak to them on the 24th May, a guy from Downer came out and said the water box/meter was very old and inaccessible and needed replacement. He couldn't do it as needed to get a concrete cutter. He advised they would be back out in a few days. In the meantime, we have been contacting them weekly for follow up and also turning the water mains on and off everyday to save water. Mmmm Watercare don't seem to care about conserving water. Now after us contacting again, Surpreet from Watercare is saying we need to fix it. Not sure how they expect us to replace the box and water meter. Now waiting for a supervisor to call - not holding our breath.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Issue sorted and new leak. Sorted also and our bill didn't go up which I was stressed about ...
Watercare is telling us we have a leak when we don't. We took photos after not using the water for four hours and sent it to them like they requested.
They agree that there is no leak and that we must have got it fixed by a plumber........ THERE WAS NO LEAK!
We have a huge bill and wanted a leak allowance because there was a leak in our water meter which their guys fixed and now they are trying to say it was our leak and that we must have had it fixed - its magic I tell you, it fixed itself - Harry Potter must have flown in and patched it up.
