About Wellington Disabilities Services
Originally trained as an fitter turner machinist Jason started an apprenticeship with Bloomfield engineering in the late 80's. After completing his training he stayed working for bloomfields and sister company metric sheet metals for 15 years.
Both companies gave him the ability to design and fabricate steel object.
Jason then moved into the heavy engineering trade working for Phil Wheelans commercials designing truck canopy bodies and trailers, tipping decks and tow bars
Using his experience in both trades he purchased Wellington disability services in 2015.
Finding the work very rewarding and looking forward to maintaining life long relationships with his customers.
Our Approach
We setup an initial appointment to assess the client’s individual requirements. Clients can sometimes be referred by an occupational therapist to assist in the evaluation of the adaptations for the client.
We determine the most suitable adaptations for the client and prepare a quote for the client, funding organisation or occupational therapist.
Once the work is approved, the prescribed adaptations are designed, created and fitted. Upon completion, we inspect and road test the vehicle. A final appointment is made with the client to ensure the adaptations meet their expectations and are fit for purpose.
The vehicle is then delivered to the owner and the occupational therapist is informed of the job’s completion.
